Overview
Located 3km north of Pomona, this $18 million Queensland Government project consists of replacing the timber bridge on Kin Kin Road with a new 4-span concrete bridge. The project started in October 2022 and is due to be completed midway through 2024.
The scope includes replacing the current timber single-lane bridge with a new two-lane concrete structure, featuring one lane in each direction. The new bridge will consist of four spans to enhance its ability to withstand flooding.
The project also involves constructing dedicated turn lanes that lead to Bellbird Flat Road, realigning certain sections of Kin Kin Road, and clearing vegetation to make room for the new structure. To improve accessibility for active transport users, both sides of the bridge will have an additional shoulder width of at least 2.5 meters.
